This snack is very easy to make and can be done as a fun little project with you kids or after work on a night when you don't want to make a lot of effort. It's easy, cheap and very good.
1 package crescent rolls
1 lb ground turkey meat
1 packet of low-sodium taco seasoning
1/2 cup shredded low-fat cheddar cheese
1 jalapeño diced
2 egg whites beaten
Pre-heat the oven as directed on your crescent roll package.
Heat a medium skillet over Medium heat and brown your turkey meat. Add water, drain and add taco mix as directed on the packet of mix. When you add the mix, add your jalapeño. When done, throw the meat to a bowl and mix in the cheese. Allow to cool some.
Roll out your crescent roll dough and piece together two triangles at a time to make several squares, smoothing out the dough. Add a generous spoonful of the meat mixture to the center of the square and tuck up the points on opposite sides to make a pocket and pinch the creases to seal. Brush the top of each square with a little egg white.
Spray a cooking sheet with a vegetable spray like PAM and lie the squares out. Throw in the oven and cook for about 13 minutes.
