Dates are a very healthy food and bacon, while superfluously wonderful is not so much. In the case of Bacon Wrapped Dates----I don't give a fig. They are so gosh darn delicious and ridiculously simple to make, I say dive in. After all, you are still getting the good (even if it is with the bad).
And if you have kids, this is a terrific way to mask vitamins and other goodies in the form of a tasty, tasty treat.
Dates look like cockraches but I'd eat a cockroach if it had blue cheese shoved up its ass and was wrapped in bacon.

crumbled blue cheese
bacon slices cut in half
Directions the way I do it
Preheat oven to 375°
Cut the dates in half. Stuff the date halves with cheese (it's pretty easy as there is a pre-existing little pocket in there). Put 'em back together, roll up with bacon and secure with a toothpick. Place 'em on a cookie sheet and pop in the oven for about 30 minutes flipping them over half-way through. Let 'em cool and eat those suckers.

Some good information about a good food...the date:
They are high in fiber and rich in several vitamins and minerals including calcium, sulfur, iron, potassium, phosphorus and magnesium.
Dates help in fighting, how do I say this delicately for a food blog....getting backed up? And help prevent the opposite too.
They don't just aid in stomach and intestinal disorders but also help control weight gain by helping your body feel fuller after ingesting them, lessening your urge to snack.
This one is awesome...
My new favorite fruit combats "sexual weakness" (according to www.organicfacts.net) and is known to increase sexual stamina.
It gets better....
Dates are known to help with intoxication. They can provide quick relief in the case of alcoholic intoxication. Where was this info during High School? It coulda gotten me out of a lot of trouble at the end of the night with mom and dad.
